Simple home remedies to treat Eczema in adults and kids

Eczema is a skin condition that has left many parents scratching their heads on how to treat it. It has also left some adults battling with self esteem.

Eczema is a condition where patches of skin become inflamed, itchy, red, cracked, and rough. Blisters may sometimes occur.

According to Medical News Today, there are seven types of Eczema namely:

Atopic dermatitis – Can be caused by low humidity, cold weather, and extreme changes in temperature. Irritants, such as detergents, soaps, perfumes, and fragrances.

Contact dermatitis – Happens to an individual when their skin comes into contact with certain substances.

Dyshidrotic eczema – typically appears in adults under 40 years of age.

Discoid eczema – Mainly caused by dry skin,skin injuries, such as friction or burns, insect bites, poor blood flow, cold climate and bacterial skin infections.

Seborrheic dermatitis – Seborrheic dermatitis develops in areas where the skin is oily, such as the:scalp, ears, eyebrows, eyelids, face, upper chest and back, armpits and genitals.

Varicose eczema – Varicose eczema is also known as venous, gravitational, or stasis eczema.

It is common in older adults with varicose veins.

Asteatotic eczema: Asteatotic eczema, also called xerotic eczema and eczema craquelé, generally only affects people over 60 years of age.

This may be due to the skin becoming drier as a person ages.

Below are home remedies that you can use to treat Eczema.

1. Black seed oil,castor, olive or sunflower oil.

2. Neem soap

3. ACV. Put a cup of ACV in your bathing water and use it to shower.

Do’s and Don’ts when suffering from Eczema

  • Start using mild soaps.
  • Stop using heavy scented lotions .
  • Drop wheat and dairy products.
  • Eat lots of fruits n green veggies.
  • Drink lots of water too.
  • Avoid also artificially sweetened juices.
