Who is behind the Sh2.4B North Rift region pyramid scheme

On today’s morning show, Mwalimu King’ang’i and Maina Kageni discussed the Eldoret pyramid scheme that defrauded many residents.

"Who is behind this pyramid scheme that allegedly swindled thousands of investors out of over Sh2.4 billion in the North Rift region, according to one of our local dailies?" Maina inquired.

King’ang’i responded, "These people sell you hope!"

In response, the DCI in Uasin Gishu has launched a manhunt for a Mr. Ambrose Abutti. Many victims, including prominent businessmen and women, university professors, doctors, gospel artists, civil servants, artisans, farmers, churches, and educational institutions, have been visiting the Eldoret DCI office to file statements.

Maina asked, "I want to hear from the people of Eldoret. What led you to fall for this scheme? And what actions are you planning to take?"

• Festus Ongaga: "People are very desperate and eager to invest their hard-earned resources. What we lack is genuine structures to support Kenyan citizens, and the government is failing us terribly."

• Jennifer Kanyiri: "People often ignore warnings due to their greed for quick wealth. 'Good deals' can be deceiving."

• Prince Vinz: "The saddest part is that they are using the church to con people out of their hard-earned money. But who invests a million or more? When a deal sounds too good, think twice."
