Kenyans tell Maina and King'ang'i about yesterday's protests

The plan yesterday was for people to go and demonstrate at JKIA

Yesterday's 'Occupy JKIA' protests were the topic of discussion during the morning show with Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King'ang'i.

The protests, planned for Tuesday, were part of the ongoing youth-led demonstrations in Nairobi, now entering their fifth week.

Business was disrupted as a group of protesters attempted to march to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The protestors had reached Nyayo Stadium when police officers confronted them with tear gas and live bullets.

Maina asked, "If you are from Zimmerman, what happened? What's going on?"

Here are the listeners' responses:

ruttoh nic: "A bunch of rowdy thieves who had just robbed two supermarkets were dispersed by the police. That's all."

Humphreybrayo: "Citizens of Kenya should know better how to deal with this police. They're goons meant to kill, not uphold the law. I don't understand how someone can pull a trigger on a harmless person."

Collins: "Our 'leaders' have zero regard for basic human decency. They'd rather kill us all than do the simple right thing. They will fall, they must fall, and we will all be there."
