Maina Kageni impressed at Gen Zs determination

Maina then posed a question to their listeners, "If you were President Ruto, how would you handle this resistance? What steps would you take?"

On their morning show, Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King'ang'i discussed the determination of Generation Z during the 'Occupy Parliament' protests.

They admired how these young people are spearheading a revolution that previous generations haven't experienced, which is making many Kenyans proud.

"Gen Zs! These guys mean business. What's amazing is that there’s no single leader," remarked Maina enthusiastically. King'ang'i added, "Mind you, they don't have a designated leader; they coordinate everything using their phones and unite effectively."

Maina Kageni continued, "They are incredibly united, and this unity is inspiring many to support the hashtag #rejectthefinancebill2024. What are the goals of Generation Z, and how can older generations support them?"

They also light-heartedly commented on how Generation Z is reacting to the Finance Bill and the humorous remarks made during the protests. "Gen Zs are truly making us proud! But that part about requesting teargas flavored..."

Maina then posed a question to their listeners, "If you were President Ruto, how would you handle this resistance? What steps would you take?"

Here are some of the responses:

Surbabsmillionaire pointed out, "The problem Gen Zs have is not just about the finance bill; it's about unemployment. Many of them are idle and spend a lot of time on social media. They are using this opportunity to express their frustrations. About 80% of them don't even know the details of the finance bill."

Githuku Kenyanjui emphasized, "Generation Z is well-informed, and their concerns deserve serious attention."

Shishi argued, "Saying that Gen Z has no leaders shows our ignorance (from the perspective of non-Gen Z). We've seen individuals emerge as leaders in organizing marches, negotiating with police at different stations, distributing supplies, and even providing medical aid. Their style of leadership is different from what we're accustomed to."

Kevin Kiprotich added humorously, "What I find interesting about the protests is the creativity everywhere... I even forgot I was in the protest myself, I got so confused!"
