In morning, Maina and King'ang'i had a conversation on why a rich woman would get married.
This comes after Kenyan singer and entrepreneur, Akothee got married on the Easter Monday.
Maina was perplexed as to why a woman with money would marry given that women only marry for financial security.
"Why would a lady with money get married? Women only need men for financial security," Maina wondered.
According to Mwalimu King'ang'i, a man is the leader of the family and they both need and complement each other.
"Have had that a man is the head of the family. Men complete women and vice versa," Mwalimu King'ang'i said.
Maina advised the ladies that money could buy anything and that if they wanted company, they should get a dog because they are more loyal.
"Let me tell you ladies if you have the money you can buy intimacy and love. If you want companionship to get a dog. They are more loyal. What can't money buy?" Maina asked.
In disagreement, Mwalimu King'ang'i, stated that money cannot buy love, guidance and companionship.
"It cant buy love, guidance and companionship," Mwalimu King'ang'i disagreed.
A caller remarked that Akothee got married despite her wealth because she wants her eulogy to reflect that she was married to someone.
Caller: Akothee alipiga hesabu akona akikiufa lazima iandikwe Mrs so and so.
Another caller stated that she is a wealthy woman who owns several houses including a beach house and she understands what wealthy women go through in terms of loneliness and a lack of belonging.
For her, she prefers what she calls a "seasonal and temporary kind of belonging", where she is with a person in an arranged open marriage as she cannot fathom the thought of a man owning her.
Caller: I consider myself rich I own a beach house and a couple of properties .I have a dog and sometimes the loneliness gets to me. What women long for is a sense of belonging. We have arranged marriages here , and that what I go for, an arranged open relationship. The problem with marriage the man acts like he owns you. I can be with whoever I want to be with and trash them if I want to. It is called a seasonal and temporary kind of belonging.
Check out what Kenyans on social media had to say:
Rtd Captain Kale A married woman is respected in the society. There's no happy single mother, all of them are faking it, they cry at night. Having the title Mrs Kale is a bigger achievement compared to Being a millionaire. Singe mothers, wake up and toe the line
Patr Wain Kwa shosho media wako oo am independent single mother lakini wakizima stima the darkness and echo that screams back to them cause they had a chance of having a man but their ego didn't allow them at the time now they are questioning themselves hehe
Mary Kui Wrong judgement.....we love security that comes with being owned...we need someone we can go home to and lay beside them.....
JONTEZZ Uko kwetu culture yetu ...Kama hauna Bibi ukikufa unadungwa miba mingi sana Kwa matako ....good day.
Classic 105 Kenya Any marriage anchored on the platform of RESPECT and not how well endowed a lady is financially thrives. I have seen financially stable ladies ending up with a guy who are financially deprived and vice versa
