In the morning conversation, Maina and King'ang'i discussed the high cost of living which has left many Kenyans depressed.

This comes after the Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, stated that the government has no money to give subsidies and is even struggling to pay civil servants.

Maina described how the high cost of living has persisted and left many households struggling.

"The high cost of living in Kenya has been a persistent issue, with many households struggling to make ends meet," Maina said.

He also mentioned how the lack of resources forces some Kenyans to grow food in their tiny backyards.

"There's no money in this country and a lot of Kenyans have even resorted to planting food crops in their backyard," He continued.

Maina reassured those who believe they are the only ones affected that they are not alone.

"Before that depression kicks in I just want you to know that you're not alone. We are all going through it,He disclosed.

He also asked Kenyans to share their thoughts on the changes they are making to survive in these difficult economic times.

"What adjustments are you making? When was the last time you even filled your trolley?" Maina asked.

Furthermore, despite claims that there was no money in Kenya, he asked civil servants if the government had paid their salaries.

"If you're a civil servant, have you been paid? Because there’s no money in Kenya?" Maina posed a second question.

A caller described her current situation as "hell."

In order to survive, she had to downsize from a two-bedroom to a one-bedroom apartment and scarifies her food at times so that her children eat enough.

Caller: Maina I am going through hell. Nilitoka kwa nyumba ya two bedroom tukaenda ya one bedroom. I don't even eat so that my children can eat.
