In the morning, Maina and King'ang'i discussed why Kenyans are so resistant to trying new foods.

This comes after Cabinet Secretary of Agriculture, Mithuka Linturi, stated that we need to diversify our diets because no one wants to sell maize to Kenya.

Maina urged Kenyans to embrace new foods in order to adapt to changing conditions.

"There is need to diversify on what we eat, we need to adapt in order to survive in these tough economic times."

He then asked Kenyans why it is so difficult for them to change their daily diet.

"Why is it hard to diversify other diets in Kenya?" Maina asked.

According to King'ang'i, Kenyans must adapt to change or face starvation.

"Tusipochunga, tutakufa njaa," Mwalimu King'ang'i said.

A caller said he couldn't remember the last time he ate ugali. He believed that fortified flour which most Kenyans consume on a regular basis does not build a strong man. His preferred  foods were potatoes, rice, and pumpkin.

Caller: I can't tell when last I had ugali as a meal. These fortified flour doesn't make a man strong. Potatoes, rice & pumpkin are always full in my plate.

Check out what Kenyans had to say on social media:

Ziggy Hoffa Haiwezii iyo nae tutaendea maandamano. Ugali has always been there for us kwanza na omena.

𝐎𝐦𝐨π₯π₯𝐨 𝐆 we eat what is available maina....the kenya of today if you choose then you will sleep hungry.

Hoskipbyt Good but not really wise taught, has the minister considered all scale of Farmers, HE Ruto should talk to rift in the language they understand well. Where is wheat farming today,??are we heading that direction with maize again??It breaks heart when we see maize imported from outside

Ngatia Gaithi Another peculiar Kenyan habit. Ugali is just a tastless filler. Depending which part of country you in there is lots traditional foods like ndΓΉma ama ngwashi

Ngendwa  I think we should diversify to foods like cassava, sweet potatoes and bananas. Other than maize India with a population of 1.5m feed themselves with such starches.

Original Intruder People should go back to their cultural food, sikuizi kila mtu anakula ugali hadi waoria wanaamkia ugali na mayai asubuhi, the demand for ugali has gone high, ugali ilikua ya waluya na wakalee.
