Days after the body of Sharon Otieno was discovered in Kodera Forest after being abducted, it has emerged that she had a hard time paying school fees.
Many might wonder how a girl who dined with the high and the mighty such as Migori governor Okoth Obado would struggle with fees when she could easily ask for cash.
By the end of the first semester of her second year, Ms Sharon had an accumulated Sh78,000 in fees arrears, according to university Vice Chancellor Samuel Gudu.
Dean of Students Rongo UniversityBen Asugo told The Standard that the student also did not proceed for industrial attachment as required.
“She first paid Sh10,000, then later paid Sh12,000 before finally clearing the remaining Sh10,000,”
Despite living life on the fast lane, Sharon rarely interacted with other students and rarely shared information unless she felt the need to.
According to a close friend
“She was one person you could not have time to talk with because once classes were over, she would just leave right after the lectures,”
