Samidoh’s one-line advise on fake friends is profound and accurate (opinion)

Gikuyu music star Samuel Muchoki, known to many as Samidoh had some words of wisdom for his fans and Kenyans who might be interested in what he has to say.

The man whose personal life recently spilled over (and embarrassingly so at that!) became the sage of modern-day friendships.

The Kikuyu musician told his fans that they should not keep friends who ignore them when they really need their help.

In his post, Samidoh insisted that people who ignore others and do not respond to their calls or texts in time are not worthy of keeping.

‘I got his pregnancy in form four,’ Samidoh’s wife reveals details

His rationale was that people who are constantly on their phone while with you but cannot answer your text on time should not be your friends and should be cut off immediately.

”Never trust someone who takes hours to text you back, but when you hang out with them they check their phone every minute,” Samidoh wrote.

While Mr. Muchoki might not be a paragon as far as fidelity to marriage vows goes, I must vociferously agree with what he is saying.

Friendship goes hand in hand with sacrifice and loyalty moreso the sacrifice part. True friendship goes above and beyond for the other person.

If someone is really a true friend, they will make sure they responded to your calls and texts as soon as they can.

The phrase, “You make time for what’s important to you”, rings true with proper friendship.

To reiterate, you invest in what you care about…

If you are a person who keeps someone you consider a friend on read, then most often than not they aren’t a friend in your own estimation. Your actions speak louder than your words.
