Her Instagram account is usually populated with professional shots promoting her latest Fenty beauty release, glossy magazine shoots or sneak peaks of her upcoming lingerie line.
But on Wednesday May 2, Rihanna decided to pare things back by treating her fans and followers to a few candid shots of her enjoying the summer sunshine.
Posting three pictures of her wearing a bikini and no make-up while basking in the heat, the 30-year-old captioned the collection: ‘when u can’t wait for summer.’
However canny Instagram fans were quick to point out the popstar-turned-music mogul’s leg hair, clearly visible in the sunlight.
And over 37,000 of them rushed to the comments section to praise Ri-Ri for ditching the razor and share that her picture had inspired them to embrace their body hair also.
In 2007 the singer fronted a campaign for Gillette Venus razors after the brand awarded her the Celebrity Legs of a Goddess award.
Instagram fan @deeleviso wrote: ‘When you post a pic with stubble on your legs and you still look hot af what a queen’
A sentiment shared by @sscowpunk who typed: ‘Hairy icon!!!! I love you’.
While @x_irisssss_shared: ‘i wanna be like riri and not shave my legs’.
Fans also took the opportunity to commend Rihanna on her stretch marks, apparently visible in the third picture in the collection.
However, the Barbadian beauty was quick to point out that although she has stretch marks on her body, the ‘tiger stripes’ fans were referring to were actually rays of sunlight on her skin.
‘I got stretch marks but dats the sun,’ she wrote in reply to one of the comments.
And this attitude towards body positivity and inclusivity can also be seen in the first advertisement for her forthcoming lingerie brand, Fenty x Savage, in which a model discusses body image.
‘I think I feel most sexy… in the morning. Rolls. Stretch marks. Cellulite,’ the model says in the clip.
The line which goes up to a 44DDD launches on May 10.
