Big Kev breathed his last on Saturday July 29 at the Nairobi Hospital after a long battle with cancer of the brain.
The TruBlaq Entertainment CEO organiser underwent 13 surgeries during his seven year long battle with the benign brain tumor.
“It is hard to stand here and eulogise him,” Big Kev’s sister in law, Dr Loise Achieng said at his burial service, “I walked a long journey with him from 2010. Seeing him as a patient. It was really, really difficult. We thought we are the ones who were going to encourage him but instead, he made us laugh and he encouraged us.”
His first cousin, Professor Owino Opiyo thanked Big Ted for being there for Big Kev through think and thin. “You belong to this family. We have friends who walk away but you have brought all our friends here together.”
Uhuru Kenyatta also sent his condolences to the family that was read to the audience that included celebrities and top corporate honchos.
