For the first time, Churchill Show comedian MC Jessy has openly addressed the swirling rumours about his personal life.

However, in a candid interview with SPM Buzz, the comedian dispelled these claims, stating unequivocally, "I do not know anyone by the name Wangare. Never. I have never married anyone by that name."

For years, whispers have circulated that Jessy was married to a woman named Elizabeth Wangare, with whom he supposedly shares a son.

The story goes that the two exchanged vows in a vibrant 2012 wedding at Winner's Chapel.

The comic who made an unsuccessful bid for the Imenti South parliamentary seat in the August 2022 General Election, further shared his perspective on keeping his personal life out of the public eye.

He acknowledged the societal pressure to showcase his private life on social media but stressed his decision to shield his loved ones from the spotlight.

"I am the one you chose to be in the limelight, not my kids, wife, or girlfriend," he asserted. Jessy explained that when he began his comedy career, he was single and intentionally kept his personal affairs private.

He elaborated, "Anything that concerns anyone apart from MC Jessy requires their consent before I discuss it publicly. I started comedy on my own—no dating, no family involved—so I prefer to keep it that way. Fans are here for my work, not my personal life. If relationships end, what would I tell people?"

In 2018, Jessy was said to be dating Nancy Wanjiku, popularly known as Shix Kapienga where he talked about his marriage.

In a bid to set the record straight, Jessy addressed the speculation, revealing that he and his wife amicably parted ways in 2012 to "figure things out."

Speaking candidly during an interview with The Star, he shared, “We married when the relationship was already strained.

So, in 2012, we decided to take a break and work on ourselves. We remain friends and continue to co-parent the most beautiful gift I've ever received in my life.”

Jessy also praised his new girlfriend, Shix, for her kind and loving nature, dismissing rumours that she was responsible for breaking up his marriage.

He explained that their relationship began as a friendship, sparked by their shared work at Hot 96 and Churchill Raw, before gradually evolving into something more.

“I met Shix through my work, and we started as friends, attending events and gigs together. Eventually, I realized I wanted to be with someone, so I pursued her,” Jessy recounted.

The comedian was keen to clarify that his relationship with Shix did not cause the end of his marriage, countering the narrative that had been widely circulated in the media.
