A mothers love! DJ Evolve’s mother quit job to take care of her son

DJ Evolve gave a wide-ranging interview yesterday. The man whose life was turned around in a split second, could barely hide the pain he felt after that fateful day in January when he was shot at point-blank range by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

Since then he had been hospitalised at Nairobi hospital, a shell of the proud DJ who had rocked and moved audiences at B-Club.

Evolve whose real names are Felix Orinda was released from hospital a few weeks ago and has been recuperating at home.

In an interview with NTV, the DJ’s mom expressed her displeasure at the fact that her son had been released despite her intuition that he still needs medical attention.

Evolve’s mother who requested anonymity said that she had quit her job since the shooting to take care of her ailing son who is paralysed from the waist down.

“Since the day of the incident, I quit my job to take care of my son. we have just been depending on well-wishers for survival. Due to the pain (in my heart), I cannot talk. I just talk to my God. My son’s life has been destroyed. (I hope to get) justice for my kid. only that,” she says.

The mother also explained that Babu Owino had indeed paid the Sh. 7 million hospital bill as ordered by the court.

“Babu Owino paid the 7 million shillings bill as ordered by the courts. I did not ask for my son to be discharged as reported by several media houses. I am not a doctor and I do not know how someone could fake something like that,” she said.

For now, we at Classic105 hope that the DJ’s health may improve dramatically and that one day he might get the opportunity to get on the decks again and scintillate fans.
