According to reports, Soul legend Aretha Franklin, 76, is ‘gravely ill’ and in serious condition.
The Queen of Soul is said to be surrounded by friends and family in Detroit, according to Showbiz 411.
Aretha is said to have been battling numerous health problems for years and had to cancel a series of concerts citing ‘doctor’s orders.’
Family has asked for prayers and privacy for the singing legend.
Franklin’s latest performance was last year for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in New York on 2nd November.
Her final public performance was at Philadelphia’s Mann Center in August 2017.
She had revealed earlier that year that 2017 would be her final year of performing.
Reportedly, the soul music legend was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2011 but she denied reports that she carried the disease.
Aretha had previously cancelled performances for undisclosed medical treatments.
She was still performing amazingly into her seventies.
Aretha Franklin was the fist ever woman inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and she topped Rolling Stone’s Greatest Artists Of All Time list.
