The case of rogue police officer Caroline Kangogo is still captivating Kenyans as more information comes to light.
The most recent revelation is that the last man she allegedly shot, Peter Ndwiga Njiru, was in a polygamous marriage with two women; Margaret Wambui and Purity Wanderi.
Njiru, who was a security consultant from Embu county, was lured to a hotel in Kimbo, Juja area by Kangogo at around 4 pm on Monday, July 5. The mother of two allegedly shot him before leaving the hotel at around midnight.
Yesterday, Njiru’s family, among them his two wives, were at the General Kago hospital’s mortuary during the post-mortem.
One of his wives, Wambui, told Citizen TV that her husband never slept outside, with the departed’s own family saying that they were not aware of his relationship with Kangogo, denying knowing her.
Father to the late, Ale Njiru, said he only knows of his son’s two wives and not Kangogo. “Msichana anaitwa Caro sijawahi muona na sijamskia (I have never met nor heard of Caroline),” he said. The family has called upon DCI to arrest Kangogo and justice served.
Njiru allegedly helped Kangogo escape after the killing of John Ogweno, according to police. After shooting Ogweno, she then took off with his loaded Ceska pistol and drove to Juja, where she lured the late Njiru.
Reports indicated Kangogo, who broke up with her husband, a senior police officer over infidelity, dated the two deceased men at different times.
