Gideon Kioko Mike Mbuvi aka Sonko is currently focusing on his campaigns for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat after unveiling his running mate Paul Igathe, former Shell MD, recently.
Analysts say it’s a tight race and due to this, he has to woo voters in every way. Over the weekend, he supplied water to Umoja residents and has been undertaking a lot of projects to prove his determination to transform Nairobi.
“In my first 100 days in office, I will abolish permits for mama mboga and hawkers and also reduce land rates,” said Sonko a few weeks ago when asked what plans he has for Nairobi.
Well, other than his manifesto and projects Sonko seems to have turned to the Maker to seek guidance and victory during the general elections, and lately, he has been sharing photos while attending church services to show that his faith is undeterred.
This time round, he decided to take his Godly acts to another level, by sharing a Bible verse on Twitter. Along with the verse he posted a photo showing him with eyes shut in deep prayer, but Twitter was not convinced.
This is what he captioned the photo;
God says, “Turn back to me and ask for help, and I will answer your prayers.” -Jer 29:12
Well, as you know, Kenyans are never shy to speak their minds, and when it comes to KOT, you know how savage they can be. The post received a lot of feedback, both good and bad.
Most Kenyans, however, felt that it was just a PR stunt, asking him why he was not sharing Bible verses or talking about God and prayer before. Check out some of the Tweets below.
