Coastal singer Nyota Ndogo has a knack for going balls to the wall when speaking about her life. The “Nibebe” singer has one of the most colourful lives among our female celebs and isn’t afraid to shy away from the controversial topics.
The musician was recently interviewed on Radio Jambo and had a fascinating conversation where she narrated how unhappy she was with the way people refer to her husband.
Nyota who is married to her Dutch lover, Henning Nielsen, for close to three years humbly asked bloggers to shun away from always calling her husband a mzungu in their publications. “Please bloggers, when you want to write about me and my husband, please write Nyota with her husband and not her white man,” she wrote.
She went on to say that it was kind of discriminating to call him white because if it was the other way round, no one would want to be called African.
“But we Africans feel oppressed when we grow up in people’s lands and then you are called ‘Hey African’ you feel like you are being discriminated against but you feel like calling him white is right,” she added.
Nyota also went on to add that she was struggling to have children with her Mzungu husband, despite her love for kids and desire to have 7 more kids.
She said that she had visited several doctors but they have not been successful in conceiving as yet. The doctors told her that she and her Mzungu husband were o.k medically but that her current situation was par for the course as she took a long time to conceive with her previous two pregnancies with her former hubby.
