Police in Naivasha have launched a manhunt for a tenant who stabbed and killed his landlord over a pending Sh5,000 rent.
The incident occurred in Karagita estate. The landlord was pronounced dead on arrival at Naivasha sub-county where he had been rushed for treatment.
Emotions ran high as friends and relatives tried to come to terms with the bizarre incident in the estate that is home to hundreds of flower farm workers.
The deceased was stabbed three times by the suspect who was armed with two knives and succumbed to his injuries due to heavy bleeding.
According to a neighbor John Kimathi, the tenant and the landlord had argued for months over the pending house rent.
He said that the suspect had not paid his rent for three months forcing the victim to order him out of the house.
The landlord had come to issue a vacate notice to the tenant but he was stabbed several times on the chest while the suspect escaped.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the incident adding that they were seeking the suspect who fled soon after the incident.
The victim died while been rushed to hospital and we have questioned the wife who was present during the incident as part of the investigations.
