Jeff Koinange normally has some very fascinating guests on his show. Yesterday night on his show JKLive that airs on Citizen T.V the host interviewed three guests, Ashman Puri, Miriam Ndirangu and 13-year-old Bianca Wambui.
The 3 were speaking out on their struggles with cancer and had advice for other Kenyans facing the menace. Bianca’s story was one that got many teary as she related to Jeff how a friend of her in school had stigmatised for only having one breast.
An emotional Bianca told the host,
I stopped going to school. I cannot attend classes because of my situation as my friends say that I have one breast and they, therefore, cannot play with me and that I will infect them. I sit at home lonely and I would wish to get well so that I can resume my studies. I live with my mum and siblings. I have three friends who also stay with me during the day. Sometimes I ask God why this happened to me, but I know I will be okay because he is on my side.
This admission shocked the other guests, all going silent. The class 8 pupil who lives in Mathare also told Jeff that her family was struggling to help her win the fight against the illness.
She sadly told Jeff that she couldn’t go for radiotherapy or chemotherapy because her family did not have money. Jeff and her fellow guests encouraged her to keep the spirit up and keep fighting.
That wasn’t the only support she received, Jeff went on to rally the public to raise funds to support the Bianca young girl.
