In 2006 right after graduating from University all I wanted to do was learn Professional Make-up @aofmakeup however it was a far fetched dream at the time asking my parents to spend almost 200,000kshs on a 6day Make-up course for me, then to also pay for me to fly to the Academy based miles and miles away from home, it was just an insane request to them at the time. Even when they said no it didn’t stop me from holding on to my dream.
In 2009 I left Corporate and started my career in Make-up on self taught skills, I never watched YouTube but instead I chose to read many books authored by artists I admired and practiced all the time on any willing face.
Then in 2013, God answered my prayers and I got to travel to London and I got a Freelance Certificate in Professional Make-up Artistry @aofmakeup which honestly was a life changing experience. Learning from incredible, established Make-up artists from around the world at the academy was so inspiring.
Recently I started training other upcoming artists in Kenya and as I pass on my skills I will always be willing to learn more from others and upgrade my skills so that I can always offer my students and clients nothing but the best!
This coming Monday I will be back @aofmakeup to get a Creative Certificate in Advanced Make-up Techniques. I am very excited and so grateful for the opportunity. As insane as I was dreaming about it, it has become my reality…never give up on your dreams even if people think your crazy for having them. Some of the people who never supported me when I first shared my passion for Make-up are now my biggest fans and I am very grateful for their support. #Godsgift #LivingmyDream #Upgradingmyskills #Alwayshungrytolearn
