National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi on Thursday confirmed that he introduced Nation journalist Barrack Oduor to Migori Governor Okoth Obado.
Speaking to the Nation, Mr Mbadi said Mr Oduor approached him seeking his help in getting access to the governor over a “sensitive” matter in the days leading to his kidnap.
The sensitive matter turned out to be the case where the late Sharon Otieno was accusing Migori governor Okoth Obado of impregnating her.
As investigations progresses on who killed Sharon a few things cannot go unnoticed and one of them is that Migori governor skipped an event that kicked off on September 5th the same day Sharon’s dead body was recovered.
Initially Obado had planned to travel on September 4th to Kigali where he was supposed to represent the Council Of governors in the Green revolution forum but he cancelled with no explanation whatsoever.
A source has revealed that he was last seen in the office last week and that even the activities around his home have gone down.
So slow are the activities such that even the sirens that blare to announce the arrival of them are no longer blaring.
Sharon who who was a student at Rongo University was found murdered at Kodera forest after being abducted by men who are believed to be Obado’s .
It is alleged that she might have been raped before being slashed alongside her unborn baby as she was seven months pregnant.
Okoth Obado’s Press Secretary Mr Nicholas Anyour had earlier distanced the governor from Sharon’s mureder stating that it is a smear campaign to make the governor look bad.
Results of Sharon’s autopsy are expected as the post mortem is still going on
