Michelle Obama is one of the most admired women in the world. The reasons are legion; One, she is the wife to America’s first interracial and charismatic presidents – Barrack Obama, two she is a proud and wonderful mother and three she is an amalgamation of the work-life balance trope that many young women aspire to. Simply, she has it ALL!
Yesterday, the former first lady posted a sweet message to her husband Barack on her Instagram page concerning their marriage anniversary. In it, Michelle speaks glowingly about the man with whom she had raised two wonderful daughters with.
She also contemplated the fact that two would now have a whole house to themselves as their daughters are going their own way very soon.
The beautiful message is below;
27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure. I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next—while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack.
Barack wasn’t left out as he also posted a message that celebrated the wonderful woman in his life. He preferred to use a Beatles quote to celebrate his woman. He wrote, ‘Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!’
Many including George Bush’s wife Sohia Bush, congratulated the two on their happy anniversary. Quick history class; Barack 28, and Michelle Robinson, then 25, met at the law firm Sidley Austin LLP, where Robinson was assigned to be his mentor.
“Because I went to Harvard and he went to Harvard, and the firm thought, ‘Oh, we’ll hook these two people up,'” Michelle told ABC News.
Though she was his mentor, that didn’t stop the future President from asking Robinson on a date. She said she was not so keen at the time. “Barack, about a month in, asked me out, and I thought ‘No way. This is completely tacky,'” she told ABC News in a previous interview.
But eventually she relented, and the pair went on a date. The rest as they say is history.
