‘Marrying outside our lands’ doesn’t affect our performance’ female legislators tell Kenyans

Female elected and nominated members of parliament have assured Samburu central residents that the area legislator will diligently perform despite her being married in another county.

Speaking in Suguta Marmar on Saturday during Naisula Lesuuda and Robert Koitaba wedding ceremony the female legislators said that marriage and work are two different things.

Led by nominated Mp, Cecily Mbarire, the law makers urged Samburu central residents to continue voting for Lesuuda.

She convinced the voters that the youthful Mp will continue working for them despite being married in another county.

“I have been an Mp for runyenjes constituency for four terms and I am married to a man from western Kenya. So believe when I tell you that Lesuuda will perform.” She said.

On her part, Lesuuda vowed to work diligently for her constituents despite being married in Baringo county.

“I have been married to a man from Baringo county but I will continue to serve samburu central people who voted for me.” She said.

Speaking in the same function, Nyandarua governor Francis Kimemia urged all samburu residents to ensure they take part in next year’s national census adding that he will work with other governors to ensure that small counties are not merged.

The wedding was attended by dignitaries and politicians among them Moses Kuria Gatundu South, Ann Waiguru governor kirinyaga county, KANU chairman Gideon Moi among others.
