A 23 year old died inquiring where her 8 month old baby was after they were hit by a vehicle in Penge, south London at around 8pm on Monday.
Nicole Newman was heard screaming ‘where’s my baby?’ after they were hit by a vehicle.
The young mum died at the scene and her son was rushed to hospital in serious condition after suffering life-threatening injuries.
A neighbour close to the scene told the Daily Mail: ‘Her last words were screams of “where’s my baby? Where’s my baby?”.
“That was just after the emergency services arrived. But they kept her in the same spot, so I knew that she was unlikely to survive. I’d heard shouting and arguing at first and I thought it was neighbours rowing.
When I looked outside a passer-by was holding the baby to stop the car or the driver moving from the point of impact.”
The driver of the car that is believed to have hit them was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is helping police with their inquiries.
