Kanye West is in the news again for another controversy. The father of 4 castigated fellow musicians on Twitter airing some of his grievances which included not releasing more music.
The rapper went on to demand an apology from rappers J. Cole and Drake while referring to himself as Nat Turner, a black man famously known as a slave rebellion leader back in the 1830s.
The new tweets might be shocking to some but it continues a controversial character trait he has since became well-known for.
The rapper has had so many controversies over the years that I have compiled two lists of them. Part one is below:
This is part two:
Kanye puts on a MAGA Hat-April 2018
The music producer etched his support for Trump more forcefully in 2018 when he was spotted wearing a Make America Great Again hat in April 2018.
That wasn’t all, Kanye who was able to get the hat signed by the president himself tweeted that Trump was his “brother”.
His support for the Republican president was the last straw for some who couldn’t reconcile his criticism for George Bush during his presidency(who was a Republican) while supporting Trump.
Kanye claims that slavery was a “Choice”-May 2018
Another low point for the controversial entrepreneur was his claim that slavery was a choice for black people. Mr. West made this claim in the offices of popular tabloid, TMZ
“When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years? That sounds like a choice. You were there for 400 years, and it is all of y’all?”
https://www.instagram.com/p/B0u3PJrH5vx/Yeezy was attacked relentlessly by celebs and the public forcing him to clarify his statements on Twitter.
Kanye defends R Kelly-January 2019
As if defending Bill Cosby wasn’t enough, Kanye went all in again to defend his fellow musician, R Kelly. This happened after the condemnation the R and B crooner had received following the release of the documentary, Surviving R Kelly.
Yeezy alleged that fans should continue to listen to his music and that we should separate the art from the artist. His wife Kim Kardashian promptly defended him saying that his words were taken out of context.
Kanye announces that he will run for the presidency-July 2020
Maybe the second time’s the charm for the musician? The rapper who had already made a prior declaration like this in the run up to the 2016 elections dropped the bombshell on July 4th.
That wasn’t the only crazy part! Even Tesla CEO, Elon Musk supported Kanye saying that he had his “full support”. L
Kanye criticizes Harriet Tubman-July 2020
As if his claim that “slavery was a choice” wasn’t enough, the born-again musician went on a rant about the prestigious historical figure, Harriet Tubman.
Harriet, was an African American woman who escaped slavery and helped fellow black men and women escape the clutches of slavery.
But Mr. West has his own version of history saying that Tubman “never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people.”
Kanye Turns on His Family-July 2020
It seems like July was a particularly busy month in Kanye’s mind as he went all out against his wife and extended family in his most epic rant ever.
Kanye published an array of tweets against his wife, Kim and mother-in-law, Kris Jenner.
“Kim was trying to fly to Wyoming with a doctor to lock me up like on the movie Get Out because I cried about saving my daughters life yesterday,” he tweeted.
He went on to say that Kim had wanted to abort North West when she was pregnant with her. He also claimed that the matriarch of the family, Kris Jenner would never force North’s career choices as she did to Kim – AKA her Playboy shoot.
Kanye Talks Abortion, Breaks Down-July 2020
Clearly abortion is a sore spot for the talented entertainer, as he broke down claiming that his father wanted to abort him, but his mother chose to save him.
At the mention of his late mother, Kanye burst out in tears clearly in pain after the loss of his rock in 2007.
NB-The rapper was diagnosed with bipolar disorder a few years ago. Many of these outbursts might as a result of his condition.
