PJ Morton, the acclaimed American songwriter and record producer renowned for his R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Gospel music, is set to perform live in Nairobi, Kenya, on September 15th, 2024, at the Glee Hotel.

Morton, born on March 29, 1981, in New Orleans, Louisiana, is the son of Bishop Paul Morton and Dr. Debra Brown Morton.

He is married to Kortni Morton, and together they have three children: Jakai (19), P3 (13), and Peyton (11).

A graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in Marketing, Morton began his journey with Maroon 5 as a touring keyboardist in 2010, later becoming an official band member in 2012.

Throughout his illustrious career, Morton has received several prestigious accolades, including:

  • Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Performance: 2024 and 2019 for "Good Morning" and "How Deep Is Your Love"
  • Grammy Award for Best R&B Song: 2020 for "Say So"
  • Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album: 2021 for Gospel According to PJ: From the Songbook of PJ Morton
  • Grammy Award for Album of the Year: 2022 for We Are

In addition to his musical achievements, Morton founded Morton Records in 2016 and has collaborated with industry giants such as Maroon 5, Stevie Wonder, Lil Wayne, and India Arie.

His latest album features the track "All the Dreamers," which samples "Mwaki" by Kenyan artist Sofiya Nzau.
