Popular Kikuyu entertainer and church leader Benson Gathungu, commonly known as Kiengei, has publicly apologized to content creator Pritty Vishy for derogatory comments made during a recent interview.

On Tuesday morning, the comedian took to his social media accounts to issue a heartfelt apology to the former partner of Stevo Simple Boy, acknowledging that his remarks were inappropriate and exceeded acceptable boundaries.

"Prity Vishy, I am very sorry and taking this moment to apologize for mentioning your name incorrectly during the show and addressing you inappropriately. Please find it in your heart to forgive me for speaking to you in a wrong and bad manner," Kiengei stated on Facebook.

The entertainer, who is also a bishop at a well-known church in Nairobi, promised not to repeat the same mistake and extended an invitation to Vishy to attend his church.

"This will not happen again in the future, I consider it my mistake. I apologize, my sister, and welcome to JCM CHURCH, THE CHURCH FOR ALL," he added.

This apology follows Vishy, 22, taking to social media to complain about Kiengei's remarks, which she described as body-shaming. She criticized the bishop and threatened to visit his church on Sunday to address him publicly in front of his congregation.

"Why hide behind the church and assume the title of Archbishop? How do you now feel about publicly embarrassing me? Do you know my mother? Do you know how she feels about this? You and other hypocrites hiding in churches are the reason we stopped attending 'the Lord’s house'," Vishy lamented.

She further challenged Kiengei, saying, "Since you did so well in reminding me that I am unattractive and fat, let’s meet at your church. Stand on that altar in front of your congregation and repeat those words… so no matter how hard I try, I’ll remember that a man of God said I am unattractive and unappealing."

Several social media users, especially women, have also come forward to support Pritty Vishy in condemning the negative comments directed at her.
