Journalist and digital strategist Dennis Itumbi has expressed his gratitude to President William Ruto following his recent appointment to a significant government position.

On Friday, President Ruto made three key appointments, including Itumbi, who was appointed as the Chief of Innovation and Special Projects.

In a statement on his social media accounts on Saturday, the president’s ally also thanked Kenyans for their feedback on the appointment.

The controversial journalist was one of three presidential allies appointed to various important government roles.

The announcement of the appointments was made by Felix Koskei, Chairman of the Public Service Commission.

“In executing the significant role given to him, the Head of State and Government, His Excellency the President, has made appointments today to enhance the staff supporting the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Agenda (BETA),” Mr. Koskei said in a statement to the press.

Regarding Itumbi’s appointment, Mr. Koskei noted, “This appointment will help advance the spirit of this administration’s innovation and growth towards a strengthened and still emerging economic sector.”

President Ruto also appointed former Public Service Minister Moses Kuria as Chief Advisor to the Economic Advisory Council.

Mr. Koskei stated that this appointment aims to strengthen the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Agenda and the broader government framework.

Meanwhile, former ICT Minister Eliud Owalo was appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff for Employee Management, Performance, and Delivery.
