Actress Lupita Nyong'o celebrates as her cat turns three

Lupita Nyong'o's cat just turned 3 and the US-based Kenyan actress can't keep calm.

Sharing on her socials, Lupita posted a few pics she had taken chilling with he adoptive cat Yoyo as they celebrated the huge milestone. Weeks after the release of their much-anticipated horror film, 'A Quiet Place: The Origin'

In the pictures a huge gold, 'Happy Birthday,' banner could be seen hanging on the wall with stars surrounding it and draping all the way to the floor. 

Lupita who donned a yellow dress topped with a yellow flower crown on her head appeared overjoyed in the pictures as she cradled Yoyo while smiling profusely. 

There were also a bunch of tiny well-wrapped gifts lying on the ground and some placed next to Yoyo in the carousel of pictures that the Hollywood star shared.

The post tickled netizens who joined the famed 'Black Panther' star in wishing he furry pet a happy birthday. Some reaffirmed Lupita noting Yoyo was like a child while others welcomed her to the 'cat woman' phase of life.

Lupita adopted Yoyo last year after breaking up with her South African boyfriend, Selema Masekela. 

Taking to her socials to she introduced Yoyo as her 'child' crediting her breakup for the bold move given she is not a cat person.

"Introducing my new companion, Yoyo!I have historically been afraid of cats, but when my life was altered instantly recently, a little voice whispered to me that it was time to embrace change and new possibilities.

So, a dear friend (shoutout Palmer Hefferan!) held my hand through the process and took me to visit my first animal shelters. I fostered Yoyo from Best Friends Adoption Center, and 3 days into it, I knew I could not give him up." her post at the time read.
