A notable scene unfolded at State House Thursday morning as newly appointed cabinet secretaries took their oaths of office, with President William Ruto presiding over the ceremony.

Outside the venue, officials were seen carefully attaching official flags to the new vehicles assigned to the cabinet members. These flags signify the cabinet secretaries' official status and roles within the government.

The right to display the national flags on their official vehicles is granted to cabinet secretaries by the National Flag, Emblems and Names (Amendment) Act 2014. According to Section 4A of the Act, only the President, Deputy President, Chief Justice, and the speakers of the National Assembly and Senate are permitted to fly the flag.

The ceremony began with Interior and National Administration CS Kithure Kindiki taking the oath, followed by Defence CS Soipan Tuya, John Mbadi (National Treasury), Justin Muturi (Public Service), and Aden Duale (Environment, Climate Change and Forestry).

Next, Lands CS Alice Wahome took her oath, succeeded by Julius Ogamba (Education), Davis Chirchir (Transport), and Rebecca Miano (Tourism and Wildlife).
