President William Ruto on Sunday affirmed that his administration will firmly address anarchists to safeguard the country's democracy.

Speaking to residents of Chebango, Sotik, Bomet County, Ruto assured them that "all is well" and warned criminal elements against disturbing the nation.

"We are a democratic country; we solve our issues peacefully through democratic means," Ruto said. "What we can't do as a nation is to abandon democracy for dictatorship, chaos, destruction of property, deaths, and anarchy. That we shall not do."

The President's stern warning comes ahead of planned protests by Generation Zoomers (GenZ) and Millennials on Tuesday, advocating for government reforms.

Last week, the police banned any form of protests in Nairobi, citing the infiltration by criminals who had caused destruction of property.

Past protests have resulted in deaths and widespread property damage across the country.

Ruto reassured the nation that their democratically elected government would take all necessary measures to ensure their safety and protect their properties.

"As a government, we will protect our democracy, we will protect the peace and stability of our nation, and we will deal firmly and resolutely with those who are engaged in mayhem, anarchy, causing deaths, and destruction of property," he said.

The President emphasized the importance of the rule of law in Kenya and criticized criminals exploiting anti-government protests to create chaos.

"There is no place in our country and in our Constitution for anybody to have a free license to cause mayhem, anarchy, death, and violence on the people of Kenya," Ruto said.

The Head of State reassured Kenyans that his government is in control.

"We have a government to ensure that life and property are safe and secure, and we will do it," he said.

President Ruto made these remarks after attending a church service in Sotik for the official opening and dedication of the newly completed Chebango AGC church.
