Maina Kageni: Should we declare Gen Zs as our official opposition?

The Kenyan laws always mandate the opposition to keep the government in check and that mandate seems to have shifted to the Gen Z camp.

Radio personalities Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’i today discussed the possibility of making Gen Zs the official opposition in Kenya.

Speaking on the morning conversation, Main highlighted that the Gen Z movement has been doing the most as far as keeping the government in check in concerned.

The Kenyan laws always mandate the opposition to keep the government in check and that mandate seems to have shifted to the Gen Z camp.

Most of their demands towards the government have been met prompting the discussion on whether they should assume the role of the official opposition.

Maina Kageni: Do we have an opposition? Should we bestow Gen Z as our official opposition? Maina asked.

This after the Azimio La Umoja - One Kenya Coalition said they will not enter into a dialogue with the Kenya Kwanza administration,.

At the same time new political realignments are in the offing. While Raila is said to have made up his mind to join forces with Ruto for what the ODM team says is "The sake of national stability", the other Azimio chiefs have flatly rejected the president's overtures.
