Bishop Allan Kiuna of Jubilee Christian Church passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Here is a tribute to the life and times of this man of God.

Birth

Bishop Allan Kiuna was born on December 10, 1966, at Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi.

He was the first child of the late Joseph Wairi from Kamucege, Githunguri Division, Kiambu District, and Lillian Wanjiku from Chorongi Village, Chorongi sub-location in Nyeri District.

He had siblings Esther Wambui and William Magua.

Early Life

Bishop Kiuna's childhood was challenging. He grew up in the tough neighborhoods of Jericho, Maringo, and Kariobangi, where illicit brews, drugs, and violence were rampant.

He took on responsibilities early, even learning boxing to protect himself and his family, especially his sister Wambui.

Despite these hardships, Bishop did not allow his background to limit or define his destiny.

Education

In 1972, Bishop Allan Kiuna began his schooling at Nursery School in Lumumba Social Hall, continuing at both Khalsa Primary and Uhuru Estate Primary School in 1973, and moving to Kimathi Estate Primary School in 1974, where he completed his primary education in 1979.

He attended Ofafa Jericho Secondary School from 1980 and later Parklands Boys High School for his A Levels in 1986.

After completing his studies, Bishop Allan Kiuna pursued Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification at the School of Professional Studies in 1988.

Spiritual Conversion

At the age of 19, Allan surrendered his life to Jesus Christ under the mentorship of Reverend Teresia Wairimu of Faith Evangelistic Ministry, marking the beginning of a transformative journey and igniting a deep passion for God that remained with him throughout his life.

Marriage

Bishop Allan Kiuna was married to Reverend Kathy Kiuna. They met in December 1993, courted for a year, and married in December 1994.

Together, they exemplified a loving couple, demonstrating a blissful marriage and setting an example for couples in ministry.

They were best friends, soulmates, and loving partners who openly displayed their deep affection for each other. Allan and Kathy enjoyed nearly 30 years of a happy marriage.

Children

Bishop Allan Kiuna was a devoted father to Vanessa Wambui Kiuna-Kovacs, Stephanie Wanjiku Kiuna, and Jeremy Wairi Kiuna.

He was the father-in-law of Robert Kovacs and Nathan Wuellner and a loving grandfather to Nia Giselle Kiuna-Kovacs, Amanda Maria Wuellner, and Ethan Allan Wuellner.

Career

Initially, Bishop Allan Kiuna worked in banking as an accountant. He later resigned to start a business with his wife. However, they eventually closed the business to respond to the call of God.

Illness

Bishop Allan Kiuna enjoyed good health until he fell ill six years ago. On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at approximately 10:00 am, Bishop Allan Kiuna peacefully passed away in the presence of his beloved wife, who cared for him with unwavering love and dedication.

He went home to be with the Lord whom he had served faithfully since his youth.
