The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has announced vacancies for the positions of Deputy Inspector General, Kenya Police Service, and Deputy Inspector General, Administration Police Service, following the reassignment of their former holders.

President William Ruto recently announced these changes, prompting the NPSC to invite applications from qualified serving police officers interested in these roles.

The deadline for submitting applications is July 17 at 5 pm.

Applications can be hand-delivered to the Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer at the 9th floor CBK Pension Towers or emailed in PDF format to digrecruitment@npsc.go.ke, as specified in the notice.

Former Deputy Inspector General Administration Police Service, Noor Gabow, has been redeployed within the Public Service, according to State House Spokesman Hussein Mohamed.

Acting in his place is James Kamau, appointed by Ruto under the provisions of the National Police Service Act.

Meanwhile, Douglas Kanja, former Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police Service, has assumed the role of Acting Inspector General of National Police Service.

He will be supported in acting capacities by Eliud Lagat, former Commandant of the General Service Unit, and James Kamau, former Commandant of the National Police College, Embakasi "A" Campus.

The transition ceremony took place at the NPS Headquarters, marking Kanja's extensive experience including roles as the Director of Criminal Investigations, Commandant of the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit, and Director of Operations at NPS, as well as his previous tenure as a commissioner at NPSC.
