Francis Munyao, popularly known by his stage name MCA Tricky, has hinted at venturing into politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Through his social media pages, Tricky posted several pictures of himself dressed smartly and jokingly suggested that these were preparations for the official attire of a leader heading into the elections before the suits become expensive.

Tricky further stated that he doesn't need to wear an expensive watch to be elected to lead the people, as his time has come.

"Get ready with the 2027 suits early before they rise in price 😆 , I dont need an expensive Watch , coz it’s my TIME!" Tricky said.

However, the comedian appeared to use humour to generate discussion about expensive watches that some government officials are known to wear.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Infrastructure and Roads Minister Murkomen are among the leaders who have attracted attention for wearing expensive watches at various events.

Tricky, who hails from Machakos County, did not disclose more about the position he intends to vie for and the area of representation.

This isn't the first time Tricky has hinted at his political aspirations. In some of his posts, he has also talked about his intention to be a leader of the people.

"Three lies and four Propaganda and Four Kilos I have already become a KENYAN PARLIAMENTARIAN ! Oh and three dangerous insults...." he wrote in his June 18 post on Facebook.

The member of the Chokora Party (MCA) gained popularity in 2016 after his debut appearance on the Churchill Show aired on NTV.

If he succeeds in his ambitions, he will join a long list of comedians who have ventured into politics.

Some of the popular comedians who have entered politics in recent years include Jalang’oo, who won the Lang’ata parliamentary seat, MC Jessy, who aimed to vie for the South Imenti parliamentary seat in the last election in 2022, South Dagoretti MP John Kiarie, Walter Nyambane, who aimed for the presidency in 2022 before being barred by the IEBC, among others.
