Bien and Breeder LW release song titled ''Maandamano''

The song is quickly gaining traction as an anthem among the youth.

Kenyan artists Bien and Breeder have collaborated to release a song titled 'Maandamano'.

The song 'Maandamano' which translates to 'protests' in English comes amid the wave of protests sparked by Gen Zs.

Bien and Breeder, known for their socially conscious music, created 'Maandamano' to amplify the voices of the marginalised and to highlight issues affecting everyday Kenyans.

The song is quickly gaining traction as an anthem among the youth.

It has powerful lyrics and compelling beats which resonates deeply with the youth, who have been at the forefront of the demonstrations.

The Finance Bill 2024, which had imposed taxes perceived as burdensome by many Kenyans, particularly the younger population, has been a focus of the recent protests.

Breeder’s lyrical passage within the song serves as a poignant critique of the pervasive corruption plaguing our nation, while also condemning the excessive use of force by law enforcement during the protests.

Breeder also conveyed his heartfelt condolences and paid tribute to the valiant youth who tragically lost their lives during the protests.
