Media personality Maina Kageni has offered some valuable advice to Gen Z protesters after their demos were hijacked by goons.

Taking to his socials, Maina called upon all Gen Zs to retreat, rethink and strategize afresh to make their peaceful protests against the Kenya Kwanza regime more valuable.

He went on to condemn violent goons who have been destroying property and looting other people's businesses.

He noted that Gen Z's power lies in their unity and ability to remain nonviolent when fighting for their rights.

Gen Z, you now need to retreat and rethink your strategy...... violent goons have infiltrated your ranks..... go back online and converse.... property damage, mugging and looting were never part of your agenda..... you power lies in your ability to remain nonviolent, inclusive, and also ready to listen..... we will support you, but please keep it peaceful,” Maina Kageni said.

Last week, Maina was against the move by the State to have Gen Zs picked leaders who will represent them in a discussion with President William Ruto.

This is after President Ruto ordered them to nominate two people who will represent them at the newly formed National Multi-Sectoral Forum (NMSF).

NMSF would be constituted to engage with stakeholders in addressing the concerns raised by the youth.  The organization is supposed to have 100 members from different sectors of the economy.

“This entire thing started online…. Any dialogue or conversation or discussion or deliberation or whatever…. MUST be done online, where young Kenyans, the true owners of this narrative, the owners of this country can individually have their opinion heard….. anything else, Apana….,” Maina Kageni said.
