Female prison officer arrested over explicit act

A female prison officer in the UK has been charged following the discovery of a social media video allegedly showing her having sex with an inmate at HMP Wandsworth, southwest London, according to reports.

Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, from Fulham, west London, faces charges of misconduct in public office. She is expected to appear in court.

The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation on Friday after the video, allegedly recorded inside the prison, circulated online.

The footage reportedly shows the officer initially wearing her full uniform before engaging in the act.

HMP Wandsworth, a Victorian-era prison built in 1851, has been struggling with severe overcrowding and poor conditions, as reported by The Guardian.

A recent inspection revealed troubling issues, including rampant violence, pests, and severe staffing challenges.

The facility, designed for far fewer inmates, is currently operating at 163% of its intended capacity, housing over 1,500 prisoners.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson confirmed the ongoing investigation. "Staff corruption is not tolerated, and the former prison officer allegedly shown in this video has been reported to the police," a representative of the Prison Service said.
