DP Rigathi Gachagua's key advice to content creators on cyber bullying

Gachagua said he decided to prove his critics wrong during the running mate debate for the 2022 general elections.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has told content creators to not bow to cyberbullying.

Speaking during the launch of the show The Bahati's Empire on Thursday night, he said he knows the pain of being bullied, telling them not to be distracted.

"Most of you artists like us politicians go through hell because of cyberbullying. Please ignore the bullying," he said.

He recalled becoming sensation with claims that he did not know how to speak English, adding that he never minded that.

Gachagua said he decided to prove his critics wrong during the running mate debate for the 2022 general elections.

He also recalled jokes about his dressing choices.

Encouraging his audience, the DP quoted a Kikuyu proverb easily translated to "A tree without fruits will never attract stones from boys".

He added that greatness and success come with a package of critics, urging the artists to remain focused on their work.

"Never get swayed by bullying on the net. If I were to get distracted, I would not be deputy president," Gachagua said.

The DP stated that in the Creative Industry, lies great potential of transforming the lives and livelihoods of the people, especially the youth.

"Besides the rich entertainment, the Creatives are a sure way of preserving and promoting our tradition and cultural values," he said.

Kenyan musician Kevin Bahati and wife Diana Marua launched their Reality TV show dubbed ‘The Bahati Empire’.

The new reality TV show revolves around Bahati and his family.

The official premiere of the reality show will take place on Netflix on Friday, June 7.
