Hon. Lucy Chomba, the former Huruma Ward MCA in Uasin Gishu County, has been found dead in her home in West Indies Estate Eldoret.

This has come as a shock since it is nearly four years after her husband's mysterious death who died while in office also as the Huruma Ward MCA, Peter Chomba.

He collapsed in his house and was pronounced dead at a hospital during the Covid 19 Pandemic.

Lucy's cause of death is yet to be established. Her body has been taken to Eldoret Hospital Morgue.

Lucy took over as Huruma Ward representative following her husband's death in 2020 before losing in the 2022 elections.

The Uasin Gishu county police commander Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed the death.

"My officers were at the home," Mwanthi said.

Mwanthi said police have launched investigations to establish the cause of her death.

"We are investigating the cause of the death and will give more details," stated officer Mwanthi.

Her lifeless body was found in the morning and it is reported that she failed to wake up.

Before her demise, Lucy Chomba devoted herself to managing her late husband’s estate. On March 2nd, 2024, she appealed to President William Ruto after her property was demolished by the county government for the construction of a modern market in Eldoret CBD. She claimed ownership of the property valued at millions of shillings.

Last month, Chomba urged the Kapseret member of parliament to assist families left homeless by a fire in Langas Estate.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi pledged to secure employment for Chomba after she lost her seat to the incumbent, Wakili Kimani Wanjohi.
