Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti says his players will feel the excitement of the Champions League final when they meet Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

The 14-time champions will face the German team, who finished fifth in the Bundesliga this season, on Saturday night.

Ancelotti, a manager with a successful record of winning four Champions League trophies, knows that victory is not guaranteed.

"The Champions League final is an important and very risky competition," says Ancelotti.

"You have to be lucky, play well, and be careful at all times, but when you reach the final, victory is so close that you become anxious."

Unlike Dortmund, who have had a tough time domestically but excelled in Europe, the Spanish champions have had a different experience in the later stages of the competition.

Real defeated Manchester City on penalties in the quarterfinals and scored two goals in the second leg of the semifinal to advance past Bayern Munich.

"It's a double-edged sword; we must celebrate it properly, but then the anxiety starts, fearing that something might go wrong because we are so close to achieving something very important in football," Ancelotti explained on Friday.
