Willy Paul explains why he is practicing celibacy & beef with Diamond

Willy Paul recently, April, released his highly anticipated album known as 'Beyond Gifted

Willy Paul is a Kenyan artist who started as a gospel musician before switching to the secular industry.

He has released albums such as Beyond Gifted, The African Experience, and Songs of Solomon among others.

In April, he released his highly anticipated album known as 'Beyond Gifted'.

In this album, he has featured Tanzanian artists marioo and Nandy, Nigerian artist Iyanya, Jamaican artist Alaine and Denique, Congolese Maud Elka, and, JZyNo.

In his recent interview with Obinna, Willy Paul confessed that he has been practicing celibacy for the past few months for the sake of his album’s success, and his career has taken off as a result.

Surprisingly, Willy Paul did not include any Kenyan artists in the new album. When asked why he did not include Kenyan artists explained that this album was about setting himself on the global stage.

He went on to allege that Kenyan artistes are not united and there is a need for them to change.

Pozze also expressed his ambition to uplift Kenyan music by taking it to the international stage.

However, Pozze has had several collaborations with big Tanzanian artists except for Diamond.

A while back he had shown his interest and promising to sing with diamond. it is yet to happen.

In a recent interview, Willy Paul shared the story of how he attempted to collaborate with Diamond Platnumz. He said that he had gone to Tanzania, visited Wasafi studio, and had a meeting with Diamond and his managers.

They agreed to work on two songs from which Diamond would choose one but the plans never materialized.

"We agreed we would come up with two songs, then he would choose one. It never went through until now. don’t know what happened because during the meeting, he was okay and cool,Willy said.

This later sparked the Willy Paul and Diamond beef.

"For me, he was an idol. I grew up looking up to him. I used to perform with his beats at Gospel events. I don’t know what happened," he added.
