My mum couldn't afford to take me to campus- Mike Mondo

Classic 105 Radio Host Mike Mondo has shared the impact his dad's death had on him.

Mike lost his dad 3 months before he sat for his KCPE exam.

Sharing his experience on the YouTube channel Manspeqtive Africa, Mike said losing his dad meant losing his best friend.

'I lost my dad as I was about to sit for my KCPE.

 I ended up failing in the same.

My dad was my best friend I used up to him for a lot of stuff.

When I finished high school my mum could not afford to take me to campus as one of my brothers was in Canada pursuing further studies.

I went to Shagz and it used to affect me a lot, I started questioning whether my family loved me enough."

Mike added that an aunt suggested he apply for a nursing course, luckily he ended up being selected

"One of my aunties asked me to apply to KMTC and I was picked up, which I never thought would happen.

My dad also thought I would be a doctor.

I was offered a full scholarship and that is how I was able to finish school."
