Tanzanian gospel artist Christina Shusha has revealed that she does not like it when people refer to her as a pastor.

The artist also divulged why she split from her husband John, acknowledging that even though they had feelings for each other they both had different callings.

For her, she had a dream which she knew in the depths of her heart, she had to pursue wholeheartedly.

"For me, acha niongee tu roho safi... I have never been fake, and I don't lie. The truth is, it's just an assignment. There is nothing different other than that. The assignment God has given me this season cannot allow me to stay where I was. I had to leave to go fulfill the assignment," said the 'Shusha Nyavu' hitmaker while speaking to New Jerusalem Church TV.

Shusho went on to highlight that their separation was quite an amicable one.

On how they reached that point, the artist notes that she respectfully approached her husband and told him that she wanted him to "release her" as she has a journey to travel.

"I told him to allow me to carry my burden as I usually do. Let me carry my load, and you continue with your service. There was no problem at all," the Tanzanian songstress candidly said.

Shusho, a mother of 3 went on to add;

"Kuolewa ni part lakini alichokiweka Mungu ndani yenu ni vitu viwili tofauti. Mungu anaweza akakuwekea hichi na mii hiki. Kinachotakiwa tu mfike kwenye agreement. Nilewe alicho nacho mwenzangu na yeye aelewe nilicho nachoalafu yione ni wapi tunaweza kukutania."

Speaking on why she finds displeasure with being referred to as a pastor noting that even though she does evangelical work her vision and goals are far larger.

"Am not into sijui Pastor Christina Shusho. Kwanza mtu akiniita pastor am not comfortable na hiyo kitu. Kwa sababu it doesn't change anything.

Nachotaka kuona ni kile nichotaka nimeachieve. That's it. It's nothing about being a pastor. I don't like people calling me a pastor. Si kwamba sifanyi kazi ya upastor but I think I have more than I must do."
