According to reports, a wife of a senior police officer is currently hospitalized with a gunshot wound in Nairobi, allegedly self-inflicted.

Additionally, their 15-year-old daughter is also receiving medical attention after sustaining a bullet wound in her finger.

Police sources indicate that the couple had returned home after spending most of Sunday afternoon out, only for an argument to erupt between them.

Following the altercation, the woman reportedly retrieved a pistol from their bedroom, believed to belong to her husband.

The husband, armed with a Jericho pistol and an extra magazine containing 30 bullets, was also present during the argument.

Allegedly, the woman threatened to take her own life by pointing the pistol at her chest.

During the confrontation, their daughter intervened, attempting to prevent her mother from carrying out the act.

In the struggle, the pistol discharged, injuring the daughter's right middle finger as she tried to wrestle the weapon away from her mother.

The bullet struck the mother in the upper chest area, exiting from her back. Both individuals were promptly transported to the hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.

Senior police officials visited the scene, collected the firearm, and the spent cartridge as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.
