Young man takes own life after fallout with mother

A 22-year-old young man has tragically taken his own life following a strained relationship with his mother.

The heartbreaking incident unfolded on Friday in Samburu County and was promptly reported to the Maralal police station.

"At approximately 12:00 hours, the lifeless body of a young Samburu man was discovered hanging from a tree near their residence in Ipartuk," excerpted the police OB report.

According to authorities, the young man's suicide occurred at an undisclosed time.

The incident was brought to light by a resident of Ipartuk village named Mark Loloolki.

Officers from Maralal police station and DCI Samburu Central swiftly responded and visited the scene.

During their investigation, it was uncovered that the deceased had left behind a suicide note in his pocket.

The area was meticulously examined, and the body, which bore no visible injuries, was respectfully removed and transported to the Samburu County referral hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

In the poignant letter addressed to his mother, the deceased conveyed his anguish after overhearing her expressing frustration with him to a third party.

"I haven't done anything to deserve your hatred. It's one thing to punish someone, but punishing them unjustly is another," penned the heart-wrenching message.

"Today marks the end of my suffering, but I hope you won't shed a tear for me, as you all treated me like a monster for no reason."
