Janet Mbugua Leaving  Citizen TV

Janet Mbugua left Citizen TV back in April 2017 to focus on her personal projects and take care of her family.

At her time of exit, she thanked her then-bosses for banking on her for 10 years.

“I’d like to thank Farida Karoney and Wachira Waruru, who have believed in me through and through. I know the moment is right for me to take a sabbatical; breathe, reflect, pursue my passion projects in earnest, and spend time with my young family,” said Ms Mbugua.

Speaking on why she left Citizen TV, Mbugua said;

“I was burnt out, I had a really young child at the time and there was an election coming up and I had an election burn and I felt that this was the good time to step back,”

“I had done it for 10 years. It was 10 years non-stop of working. Starting in Nairobi, going to South Africa coming back to Nairobi, starting a family, getting into brand endorsements,”.
