Three of the four people who allegedly visited Kelvin Kiptum's home, three days before his death, have been arrested. They are currently being grilled by detectives in Elgeyo Marakwet County to establish the nature of their visit.

Police on Wednesday, February 14, apprehended the trio in Elgeyo Marakwet and temporarily detained them at Kaptagat Police Station until 11 am.

The Sub-county Commander Keiyo South Abdullahi Dahir, confirming the arrests, detailed that the trio were transferred to the County Criminal Investigations Officer, Elgeyo Marakwet for further questioning.

Detectives also launched a manhunt for the remaining suspect whose whereabouts are still unknown.

"What made us look for the four suspects is the allegation made by the father of the dead, we never had any prior allegation or report," stated the commander, Abdullahi Dahir.

According to the commander, the three were called in for questioning, to shed light on their conversation with Kiptum's father.

A vehicle that the suspects used to access the father's house was also seized, with detectives yet to state whether it would be processed for fingerprints and any other evidence.

Additionally, Kiptum's father, Samson Cheruyoit, positively identified the three suspects after they were arrested.
