In the Katoloni estate in Machakos Township, police discovered a deceased female university student at her boyfriend's leased home on Tuesday.

Prior to her death, the deceased was enrolled in the university's Bachelor of Education programme, according to Emmanuel Okanda, the chief of the Machakos subcounty police.

“This morning we received a report that there was a body belonging to a Machakos University student which was lying inside a house at Diaspora rentals," Okanda told the Star on Tuesday.

"Our officers visited the scene that is about 4 kilometres South from the station and established that the deceased’s hands were tired from behind using shoe laces."

When the body was being removed from the residence, Okanda reported that blood was streaming from the deceased's ears, nose, and ears.

He stated that initial inquiries had shown that the woman had been killed on Monday evening. At the Machakos police station, two suspects, including the boyfriend, had been taken into custody.

But the head of police claimed that the investigations had not shown if the deceased had been struck by blunt objects, which would have caused their death.

When the cops arrived and cleared the area, the deceased was lying with her face turned downward.

By the time of publication, the authorities had not determined her age.

“We have two suspects in custody to help in the investigations. The body was moved to Machakos Level 5 Hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy to reveal age, whether she sustained other injuries and cause of death,” Okanda said.

Okanda declared that they had begun looking into the occurrence.

He urged the kids to focus on their studies and cautioned them against getting involved in criminal activity. Additionally, Okanda warned the pupils not to abuse drugs or other substances.

The head of police also exhorted the people not to enforce the law on their own.

He advised them to get counselling from pastors, elders, and other pertinent members of the community.
