As the police wrap up their investigations, three of the six suspects connected to the death of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, also known as Sniper, will be detained for 21 days.

This comes after Kibera Senior Resident Magistrate William Lokopoiyot issued the orders in response to the detectives' request for an extension of time to wrap up their probe.

The DCI said in the appeal that they required sufficient time to investigate the intricate details of the murder, including tracking the victim's final movements.

"We have more evidence that has vital information, also the phones recovered from the suspect are yet to be taken to the laboratory for examinations, " Detective Geofrey Tegei told the court.

He went on to say that if the suspects are freed before the investigations are finished, justice will not be served for the victims and his family.

Before his body was found on December 16, 2023, Sniper vanished on December 2.

As part of the investigation, further suspects were detained and interrogated in Meru last week.

For the judicial proceedings, they are anticipated in Nairobi.

The deceased guy died via strangling, according to an autopsy performed on his body at the Marimanti Level 4 Hospital mortuary in Tharaka Nithi County.

According to government pathologist Johansen Oduor, Sniper had evidence of oxygen deprivation and had wounds on his neck.

Additionally, he displayed bruises on his skull and fractured ribs, suggesting that he was strangled before being thrown into a river.
